Grace Retirement And

Community Enterprises Inc.

This six-storey, 65-unit apartment building for seniors is the project of the G.R.A.C.E. inc. non-profit group which is affiliated with Grace United Church. The land was acquired through gifts from the Eli Crawford and Arthur Morrison families. The building cost just over $3 million to construct and financing was obtained from Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation. The one and two-bedroom apartments are a combination of market value and rent-geared-to-income units.

The ribbon cutting ceremony to officially open Grace Court took place on October 15, 1983, one year after the sod turning, Left to right, John Fisher, MP for Mississauga North; John McDermid, MP for Brampton Georgetown; Frank Bean, Chairman of the Region of Peel; Premier Bill Davis; Mayor Ken Whillans.
